The ‘Challenge’ aims to encourage people and organisations to set themselves a ‘challenge’ during 2010, and in doing so raise funds for

the Forces Childrens Trust. The trust is devoted to helping dependant children that have lost a parent whilst serving with the Armed Forces.

Donna White

Donna White

Donna White has taken up The Challenge 2010 in the biggest fashion by deciding to run the three marathon legs from Greenwich Park to Dover port on three consecutive days!! Donna will be setting off from the park on Saturday 25th September and completing the first marathon, finishing at Maidstone. On the next day she will complete a further marathon from Maidstone to Ashford (Kent). On the final day she will run from Ashford to Dover, completing the three marathon stages. She aims to arrive in time to be greeted by the cyclists who will be departing for their stage, as well as potentially the swimmers (it all depends on the tides!!) However, instead of then having a well deserved rest Donna will be joining the cycle team in a support role, assisting them on their Challenge across France/Belgium/Holland/Germany. We are all giving Donna our full support so it would be great if people could add to this by way of sponsorship.

To do so go to http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/DonnaThechallange2010. When choosing to donate select Donna as the team member that you would like to support.

Good luck Donna !!

Biggin Hill Airshow

Biggin Hill Air Show26th -27th June

The Challenge 2010 braved the heat of the hottest days of the year so far and promoted our events at the Biggin Hill air show this weekend (25/26 June 2010) Unfortunately a certain football game (no comments please) saw to the fact that Sunday was a particularly quiet day!!) However, thanks to all that stopped, chatted and showed support by buying a wrist band or two! And for those that took a leaflet.....we hope to see you soon!!

A Huge Success

The Fire Engine pull went ahead on one of the hottest days of the year, great for the 'bucket shakers' but not for the lads from Bromley Fire station !!! As a result of a huge effort the team pulled the 1950's engine around the Bromley shopping area, gathering donations from shoppers enjoying the weather.

On the day a superb total of £1,636 was collected. As an extremely generous gesture the team from Bromley Fire station have allocated £500 to the Fire Service benevolent fund and the remaining £1,136 to The Forces Children's Trust.
